Sea-food Okro Peppersoup Recipe

Sea-food Okro peppersoup is prepared using the okro fruit (Okro is widely known as a vegetable but since it has seeds, it's a fruit) which originated in West Africa. Unlike the normal Okro soup you're familiar with, this sea-food okro peppersoup (fisherman okro soup) is garnished with sea food such as crayfish, shrimps etc... as the name implies. This peppersoup can be enjoyed with any swallow of your choice.

Ingredients
  • Okro (20 pieces)
  • Sea snail/ perwinkle (a bowl (tiny sizes))
  • Prawn (3 jumbo-size pieces)
  • scotch bonnet pepper (14 pieces)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Seasoning powder (according to taste)
  • Uda pods (3 pods)
  • 3 stick Uziza leaves
Instructions
  1. Start by prepping your ingredientschopped okro to cook soup
    • Clean prawns and blend the prawn heads
    • Blend pepper and onions
    • Chop your okro
    • Slice your uziza leaves
  2. Sieve blended prawn mixture into your pot and leave to heat for few minutes

  3. Pour in blended pepper mix into the pot

  4. Break the Uda pods to reveal the seeds and add to your pot.

  5. add sea snails to your soup

    Add your jumbo prawns and sea snails

  6. Add salt and seasoning to taste

  7. add okro into the pot

    Add chopped okro to the pot

  8. Add your sliced uziza leaves and allow to cook for a few minutes

  9. Final look of seafood okro peppersoup

    Food don done.

Note
  • Cook this recipe at medium heat.
  • After cooking, wait for at least 3 minutes for better taste
  • Serve with any swallow of your choice.
