Some food critics consider catfish excellent to eat, while others dismiss them as watery and tasteless. Catfish is rich in Vitamin D and can be enjoyed in a variety of stews. It is popularly enjoyed  in a delicacy known as "Catfish peppersoup" by Nigerians. Today we will be sharing a different dish which is the delicious "Catfish stew".

Prepare to tantalize your taste buds with our Catfish Stew recipe. Enjoy comfort and satisfaction with every spoonful with your loved ones.

Ingredients
  • Catfish (one piece)
  • 75 g Onion (2 medium-size piece)
  • scotch bonnet pepper (10 pieces)
  • Tomato (7 pieces)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Seasoning cube (3 cubes)
  • 1 tsp Ginger powder
  • Garlic (3 pieces)
  • 70 g Tomato paste (1 satche)
  • Vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. Start by prepping your ingredientsmarinating catfish for catfish stew
    • Wash your catfish with salt and rinse properly with boiled water 
    • Marinate it with seasoning, salt and garlic powder then set aside to rest for some minutes
    • Blend your tomato, pepper garlic and onion
  2. Add about 2 to 3 cooking spoon of vegetable oil allow it to heat up

  3. Add your onion to the heated oil, then add your blended mix, cover and allow it to cook 

    Cook till the sour taste is eliminated
  4. Add tomato paste stir and allow it cook for 4 to 5 minutes

  5. Then add your marinated catfish into the pot

  6. Add ginger powder stir and cook for 3 minutes

  7. Add salt and seasoning to taste

  8. catfish stew ready to eat

    Food don done.

Note
  • Cook this recipe at medium heat.
  • After cooking, wait for at least 5 minutes for better taste
  • Serve stew with Rice or Pasta.
